Meet the Panelists

Dr. Nakia Sarad
New York-Presbyterian Queens - Weill Cornell
Nakia is currently a senior General Surgery Resident at New York-Presbyterian/Queens - Weill Cornell. She obtained her Bachelor's in Science at UCLA and graduated with honors majoring in Physiological Sciences and a minor in Global Studies. Before medical school, she pursued a Master's of Science at Keck Graduate Institute with an emphasis on biotechnology, focusing on device and diagnostic development. Nakia worked with many biotech/pharmaceutical companies on projects involving clinical applicability and the impact of therapeutic options. She completed her medical school education at Touro College of Medicine as a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi National Honors Society, graduating in the top 10% of her class. Nakia also has a vested interest in global medicine and started a new Global Brigades chapter in her graduate program with medical trips to Central America. Throughout this journey, she has been heavily involved in research, presenting at national conferences such as CHEST and publishing manuscripts.
Dr. Aditya Khurana
Admissions Counselor - Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine
Aditya is a current radiology resident at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He attended Duke University for undergrad, majoring in neuroscience, and attended the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine for medical school. He has had significant research experience, ranging from computational neuroscience in undergrad to artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and health services research in medical school. Aditya has published extensively on these topics and continues to be academically productive in these areas. He has formally mentored several premedical and pre-physician assistant students through the admissions process and is also well-versed in residency applications.
