Francesca S.

Throughout her academic journey, Francesca developed a keen interest in the intersection of public health, population health, and medicine, particularly in the context of sexual and reproductive health. Her research primarily focused on access to care paradigms for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis and the impact of various psycho-social risk factors on STI transmission among men who have sex with men.

Determined to apply her knowledge in a practical setting, Francesca applied to medical school with an impressive academic background and passion for public health shone through, and after careful consideration, she chose to attend the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Specializing in emergency medicine, she plans to continue her practice in the Northeast, where she can make a significant impact on the lives of her patients and the community at large.

Throughout her time at medical school, Francesca has been actively involved in various research projects and campus initiatives. Her research has spanned topics such as sexual and reproductive health among cis-gendered women, community and in-hospital harm reduction practices, and racial justice within the medical school curriculum. With several peer-reviewed articles to her name and presentations at multiple national conferences, Francesca has established herself as a proactive and influential figure in her field.

In addition to her academic and research pursuits, Francesca has been deeply involved with admissions at Mount Sinai. As a member of the admissions committee, Francesca brings expert insights to prospective applicants and an inside look at how admissions committees think and review applications. 

Francesca's years of experience in medical school admissions and coaching make her an invaluable coach for aspiring physicians. She breaks down the complex application process into manageable tasks, helping applicants navigate the journey with confidence and clarity. Francesca's keen eye for identifying an applicant's strengths and her constructive feedback helps candidates refine their applications and present their best selves to admissions committees; she’s passionate about making the process more approachable.
