The USU was founded in 1972 and is located in Bethesda. Its goal is to provide physicians for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and US Public Health Services medical corps. With a military focus, graduates can find themselves in various medical positions in public defense.
USU graduates are required to serve a minimum of seven years in active duty for the military in exchange for free tuition and additional pay while studying.
