Jonathan D.

Jonathan Dworak has been tutoring for The Princeton Review for 17 years. He finds that being able to work one-on-one with students is the best situation to which an educator can aspire—and further, that having a personal connection to so many interesting and engaged students makes the process of working together to master a subject a fulfilling one. Jonathan tutors students of all ages, and his expertise allows him to serve as a “master trainer” of tutors aspiring to teach.

Kenneth B.

As a tutor with The Princeton Review, Kenneth Brenner most enjoys figuring out what makes each student tick—and then creating a study environment that’s instantly conducive to learning. A passionate educator, Kenneth has taught across the age spectrum, from sixth-graders to grad-level students. His students have been accepted to Ivy League colleges and other prestigious universities and programs.

Dr. Robert F.

A tutor for over 15 years, Dr. Robert Fong’s greatest educational fulfillment lies in emphasizing conceptual learning over rote memorization: He has perfected this approach to bring speedy and efficient improvement to all his students. Robert is a master tutor in all MCAT sciences and has contributed to work on The Princeton Review’s research and development team. With an undergraduate degree from New York University, Robert completed his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology at The University of Chicago, where he serves on the faculty in the department of anesthesia and critical care. He is a board-certified anesthesiologist.

Aaron L.

Toronto-based tutor Aaron Lindh finds inspiration the moment a student “gets it”—when all the hard work pays off and a concept that was formerly impossible becomes easy. He approaches each tutorial by identifying the strengths, abilities, and learning style of each student, and works to develop confidence accordingly. He’s responsible for training and certifying new teachers and tutors, developing new teaching programs, and training new Princeton Review trainers in North America—and abroad.

FAQ's

image of arrow down

Is one-on-one NCLEX tutoring right for me?

Our private tutoring service is a great fit for students seeking one-on-one, tailored tutoring. Our services pinpoint areas where you need help most, teach proven problem-solving techniques, and increase your score.

Some candidates may only use our private service, whereas others may supplement what they learn with us using other methods such as online courses.

image of arrow down

Can I request a particular NCLEX tutor?

If there’s someone in particular you’d love to work with, you can certainly let us know. However, we cannot guarantee that we can partner you with your chosen tutor since our experts can be booked months in advance.

image of arrow down

How is my tutor selected?

We choose your best-fit coach for NCLEX prep using numerous factors. We use your diagnostic test results and your concerns and preferences. Before we match you with your tutor, we speak to you to ensure your results truly reflect your current NCLEX proficiency level. Some tutors specialize in general test-taking tactics such as time management, whereas others may be adept at pharmacology or management of care questions.

Once you’re paired with your tutor, you can feel confident that they’ll know how to get you from point A to point B in the least amount of hours.

image of arrow down

What does my tutoring program cover? How many hours of tutoring do I need?

Our customized NCLEX coaching program is designed to meet your needs. Whether you’re using our tutoring service as your only prep method or supplementing with other methods, your prep plan will revolve around the areas you need help with most.

Wondering which plan works best for you? Schedule a call with one of our experts today!

image of arrow down

When and where does tutoring take place?

All tutoring sessions are virtual and usually take place once weekly. However, the frequency of your meetings may increase depending on what stage you’re at in the review process. We suggest spacing out your sessions enough so that you have time to absorb what you’ve learned and complete any revisions or assignments. You and your NCLEX coach will determine the best times to connect.

image of arrow down

How many NCLEX questions should I be prepared for?

On test day, you’ll need to complete 75 to 145 questions, depending on how long it takes to determine your competency in test content.

image of arrow down

How do you pass the NCLEX?

Passing the NCLEX means demonstrating your competency level is higher than the minimum requirement. THE NCLEX is a computer-adaptive test, meaning that the difficulty will increase as you answer questions correctly. As you work through test content, the test’s algorithm will identify if you’ll pass with 95% confidence.

image of arrow down

When can I expect NCLEX results?

You’ll receive your official results approximately six weeks after your test date. Depending on your state, you may view your unofficial results as soon as two business days after your test.

image of arrow down

Is it possible to take the NCLEX multiple times?

You can retest if you need to and can retest up to eight times in a calendar year (it must be more than 45 days since your last exam).

image of arrow down

How early should I begin NCLEX preparation?

You should begin preparing for the NCLEX at least a few months before the exam. However, your NCLEX study schedule depends on your previous knowledge and your pre-existing commitments. A customized study schedule is the best way to prepare.

image of arrow down

Can a tutor help me customize my study plan?

Yes! Your tutor will take your unique abilities and goals into account when helping you create a study plan. This will result in a plan that is tailored to your specific needs and customized to ensure your success!

image of arrow down

Are online tutors as effective as in-person tutors?

Absolutely! Our online tutors will go above and beyond to help you prepare for the NCLEX. Thanks to our expert strategies and personalized support, your tutoring experience will be exactly what you need.

image of arrow down
