Alex graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with an impressive 3.99 GPA and a degree in biochemistry. He spent two years tutoring undergraduate general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry at the NJIT Chemistry Learning Center. During this time, he also worked as a medical scribe at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center. During the medical school application process, he secured 5 MD acceptance letters and multiple merit scholarships.

Alex's passion for tutoring stems from his belief that mastering a concept is best achieved when you can teach it to someone else. Teaching allows him to deepen his understanding and share his knowledge, and he is enthusiastic about helping others succeed with each tutoring session. His teaching philosophy focuses on building a strong understanding of fundamental concepts and constructing knowledge from the ground up. By identifying and targeting areas that will most significantly impact his students' performance, Alex ensures their study time is used efficiently.

One of Alex's greatest strengths as a tutor is his ability to concisely convey complex information and adapt to each student's unique learning style. His approach to MCAT preparation is holistic and comprehensive. His tutoring style emphasizes understanding systems—a framework that applies to almost any MCAT concept or question and is essential for success in medical school and beyond. He also emphasizes the importance of both intellectual preparation and physical and mental stamina. His strategy focuses on overall wellness, including exercise, diet, and sleep, to ensure sustainable progress and genuine learning. Alex believes that with a healthy attitude and an effective strategy, anyone can achieve top results.

Alex lays the groundwork for each session at the end of the previous one, with clear goals and expectations established for studying in the interim, with specific learning objectives identified in each meeting. Alex's sessions typically combine guided practice with direct instruction, and he is always willing to provide homework that can be reviewed together, ensuring continuous progress.

Alisha's journey is marked by an unremitting passion for learning, curiosity, and hands-on exploration. In college, she explored the intersection of medicine and technology through projects like a low-cost haptic digit prosthetic, earning both the Technology and Innovation Prize at the Annual Penn Engineering Senior Design Competition and third place at the Rice360 Global Healthcare Technologies Design Competition. 

In medical school, she continued to lead innovative healthcare design initiatives, including a vibratory syringe to reduce insertion pain during injections and a lever attachment to improve mechanical efficiency in manual wheelchairs. Alisha’s research has been published in multiple journals, including the Journal of Surgical Oncology and Advances in Orthopedics. She was also inducted into the Hobart Amory Hare Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Society, recognizing her studious efforts in the classroom and passion for the community around her.

Alisha also enjoys combining her love for teaching with leadership and service. As President of RISE, a student-led initiative, she coordinated free virtual tutoring for K–12 students in the Philadelphia school system. Her passion for tutoring began in high school after she earned near-perfect scores on the SAT and ACT, with her eventual transition to tutoring students for the MCAT and USMLE Step exams. Whether in the emergency department or the classroom, one of her greatest joys is making someone’s day better and helping them move closer to their dreams.

Alisha has helped a wide range of students reach their goals with individualized, supportive lesson plans and a strong emphasis on adaptability. With nearly 100 students tutored so far, she has helped many achieve 515+ scores. She strives to meet each student where they are, integrating learning science, content review, and mindset coaching to maximize performance. In addition to her role as an MCAT tutor, she has further served as a tutor for the USMLE exams and medical school coursework.

Alisha’s motivation is rooted in a deep desire to help others succeed—whether through academic mentorship or compassionate clinical care. She is excited to support students on their path to medical school and beyond.

Anika earned a Bachelor’s in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds three certificates in medical Spanish, business of healthcare, social inequality, health, and policy. She has extensive teaching experience spanning various fields, including providing piano lessons, teaching taekwondo, and serving as a teaching assistant for a biostatistics class.

Anika graduated as a distinguished college scholar for being in the top 4% of students in her area of study. In medical school, she is consistently in the top 10% of her class. At UT Southwestern, she pursued a dual degree as both an MD candidate and to earn an MPH. She was awarded the Hoffman Scholarship to cover her public health tuition and won the Erin Bain Jones Scholarship to contribute towards her medical education. She also earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award during her first year as a medical student, demonstrating a strong commitment to service.

After achieving a top 1% MCAT score on her first attempt, Anika was inspired to help other students achieve similar success. She prioritizes efficient studying methods to empower students to master the MCAT swiftly and successfully. She embraces challenges and is committed to collaborating closely with students to guide them toward achievement. 

Anika’s greatest strength as an MCAT tutor is her clear memory of the med school admissions process, so she knows what medical schools are looking for in candidates. She also strives to build a rapport with each student to learn about their personal lives and obligations, ensuring she provides them with a realistic study plan. She strongly believes that practice makes perfect, and does her best to ensure each student is fully prepared for test day.

Anika is passionate about tutoring because she understands how grueling and daunting the med school admissions cycle and MCAT prep process can be. She believes the world needs more compassionate and caring doctors. Her ultimate goal is to ensure that candidates can become licensed physicians despite the MCAT’s difficulty. She understands that the test can be overwhelming, and she takes pride in being a pillar of support who helps pre-meds achieve their dreams of attending medical school.
