Getting into medical school can be challenging. Many applicants wonder if their experiences are differentiated enough to stand out amid a sea of other hopeful candidates. Although Emmanuel’s academic excellence was clear, and he had completed patient-care-centered extracurriculars, he struggled to find or see how he could ensure his application reached the top of the pile.
We began with a comprehensive review of Emmanuel’s profile to identify his strengths, points of interest, and any potential gaps. We noticed that Emmanuel hadn’t pursued any research experience despite his interests in cardiology and neurology. We helped Emmanuel find and apply to two research projects over one year, one of which resulted in him becoming a published co-author. We helped him follow his passions while aligning with Yale’s mission to advance discovery and innovation.
Emmanuel’s determination to differentiate himself resulted in his early acceptance to the Yale School of Medicine.
