Amanda began her academic career at Kean University before matriculating to the University of Southern California, where she earned her doctoral degree and maintained a stellar 4.0 GPA. For over 20 years, Amanda has worked in various professional settings, including teaching middle school health education, creating and facilitating professional development workshops and PLCs for fellow educators, and giving many workshops on health and wellness.
She has also built university undergraduate programs, presented professional development at local and state-level conferences, and mentored fellow educators in best practices and technology tools. Notably, she spearheaded the development of test resources in both content and study strategy methodologies for 250+ pre-service teachers working towards passing their state licensing exams.
Amanda’s specialties lie in advancing students' reading and writing testing abilities, as well as providing motivational techniques for test-taking students to feel confident and prepared for exams, including the GRE. Her approach to tutoring is centered on building positive relationships with every student, fostering engagement and excitement for content and learning, and creating a culture of open dialogue and encouragement.
Amanda loves leadership and building up resources for test prep, while promoting ways for students to be successful in their studies and in the fields they are preparing to enter. Her expertise in reading and writing prep positions her as an excellent mentor for students seeking to improve their GRE skills. In addition to testing prep, she also has done extensive work with individuals with career coaching and goal setting that supports students/clients when making decisions on their next steps in education and career.
Throughout her career, Amanda has demonstrated a commitment to leadership, building resources for test prep, and promoting ways for students to be successful in their studies and future careers. Her teaching methodology is focused on providing ongoing scaffolding to build student self-efficacy and motivation, ensuring that students feel confident when faced with challenging exams, projects, and research.
